The speaker was Patricia E. Sweeney, Ph.D., Reference Librarian at the Derby Neck Library. Frances Osborne Kellogg, donor of the 400-acre Osbornedale State Park in Derby, was a life-long champion of the environment, especially advocating for open space and forest preservation. She also managed an award-winning dairy and breeding farm, most noted for its champion bulls and cows of the Holstein breed.
